2013 Dates

November - 29, 30
Dec - 6, 7, 13-15, 20-23, 26-28
Beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving, through the rest of the year, Camp Tejas gets transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Over one million Christmas lights get wrapped around poles and trees, and hung from branches and wire. The zip lines and climbing walls are open. There are inflatables, hayrides, a light maze, food, blacklight gaga ball, a Christmas tree forest, and a lightshow on our swim lake. We also have two youth choirs performing, on select evenings.
The crown jewel of our Light of Tejas is the lightshow at the swim lake. Each tree is wrapped three times with white, red, and green lights; totaling more than 250,000 lights. It is a 30 minute Gospel presentation, going through creation, fall of man, birth of Christ, and redemption. For example, it shows Adam and Eve as two white trees. Eve bites the apple, her tree turns red, as does Adam’s when he bites it. Then all the trees slowly turn red, as sin spreads through out the world. It really is an amazing experience seeing the Gospel presented with trees. To date over 20,000 people have seen this show. This is our passionate drive behind our Lights of Tejas.
October 1 we start hanging lights. Consider being involved in this ministry. Come out as an individual, or in a group. Help hang light, help with setup, or just with spreading the word. Then, mark you calendars for November 29, for the start of Lights of Tejas. Come out as a guest, or volunteer a night or two.
